About the project

Nowadays, foreign languages are part of the curriculum in all European countries (most pupils are introduced to their first foreign language between the ages of 6  to 9). The empirical experience and research findings (1/0716/13 VEGA project) confirm that Slovak students have a relatively good command of the theoretical knowledge of English. Still, the procedural knowledge of the language lags.

 

Project objective

Our effort will be focused on the development of a comprehensive toolkit to include all three project outputs.

 

Partners

Partners from three European countries are cooperating on the project – from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. Three universities with an international reputation, three primary schools and a renowned publishing house will provide quality outputs aimed mainly at supporting English language teachers at primary and lower secondary education.

We successfully launched the LIRE project (Language Interpretation through REading) on ​​September 1, 2020. On September 29, 2020 the 1st international meeting of project partners took place online. We will inform you about its progress and results.
